Anchoring Truths from God's Word

Fruitfulness of the Word

When a gardener is taking care of his garden, he is always on the lookout for weeds. Weeds, as we all know, can choke out plants and block the sun and water from getting to the plants. The weeds must be removed to have a successful garden. Jesus illustrates in these verses in order for us to bear fruit we must not let weeds grow in our hearts. These weeds are worldly things, the lust of things which aren't yours, riches, and anything that is against God. Just because you are a Christian doesn't mean that Satan is going to stop tempting you. Now more than ever, he is going to try to cause the weeds to grow abundantly in your hearts so that God is no longer present in your life. You must guard yourself against Satan because he wants to steal the good seed that has been sown in your heart. He wants to destroy your life anyway that he can. You can't grow plants with weeds, just like you can't live a life with God and the world. You must choose to daily remove the weeds in your life to have a vibrant Christian life bearing fruit for the Master.
