A Treasure In Earthen Vessels

Pauls reminds the church in Corinth, through this letter, that they have a treasure in their earthen vessels that all seek to have, but few there be that find it. This treasure gives peace, joy, happiness, contentment, and so much more. Sadly, many are misled to worldly treasures instead that don't compare because of the blinders that satan has set before their eyes. This treasure is Jesus Christ, who gives strength in our weakness, joy in our sorrows, peace in our fears, and hope in our doubts. Everyone seeks this treasure, but sadly many do not know that Jesus Christ is the treasure that they are missing in their life. As Christians, even though we have this treasure dwelling within us, guiding our steps, giving us strength, and shining His light, it doesn't mean we won't face trials and persecution, but it means that He will be with us during those times to help us. Though we may be weak and fearful, we have Jesus Christ, who will help give us strength, peace, and joy. As Paul said, he would rather rejoice in his infirmities because of the power of Jesus Christ resting upon his life (2 Corinthians 12:9). We, too, should rejoice in that in our weakness, Jesus is our strength. We have the greatest treasure in our lives, and we should treasure it above everything else.

Leviticus 13 & Matthew 26:20-54

Key Verse

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

2 Corinthians 4:5-7 (KJV)
